The Most Local Food of All

If you are into local food, it doesn’t get any more local than your own backyard!  I took this pic in downtown RVA of someone’s lovely hoop garden.  It inspired me to start thinking of what I will plant this year.  If you don’t have a yard or just want to start small, it could be as simple as planting some herbs or tomatoes in a planter on your patio or your balcony.  Two herbs that are perennial & that I have found to be easy to grow are oregano & thyme!  Plant these two, some basil, some tomatoes & you can make a red sauce that will knock people’s socks off.  Will you be planting something this year?  If so, what?
